Youth Programs

Acolytes:

Acolytes serve at the altar, assisting the Celebrant and helping to make
the service flow more smoothly. There are several categories of
acolytes, each serving in their own particular manner. Younger acolytes
begin as Torch Bearers and move up to act as Servers. Torch Bearers
carry the torches in the procession and at the Gospel procession at the
10:15 service. Servers assist the Celebrant at the altar. Crucifers and
Thurifers are generally older youths or adults. Crucifers carry the
processional cross in the procession and at the Gospel procession.
Thurifers carry the incense burner on ceremonial occasions.

Childrens Choir

All children at St. Thomas are invited to sing in the Canterbury Children's Choir. Please call church for rehearsal times. The Canterbury Kids sing at the 10:15A.M. service on Family Worship Sunday (usually the first Sunday of the month). Children are given the opportunity to explore music through both voice and instruments. No previous musical education or experience is needed.
